Our story begins with Shanar, the parent company to Baran Bakery. Three ladies partnering up to create amazing food. Shanar is a girls name in the Kurdish language it also is symbolic for beautiful and tasteful. Just like our name suggests, our food is beautiful and very tasty. Following the success of Shanar, one of the three ladies, Zari decided to follow her true passion and love, which is baking. Zari launched Baran Bakery in 2020 with the love of backing in her heart. In a short time she has turned the business into another success. In addition to the bakery she has added a grocery section and a pizzeria. With a vast variety of Homemade Persian cuisine, fresh sandwiches, hand stretched stone baked pizza and more. We are proud to serve Toronto with a taste of traditional Persian flavors.
The crispness of the crust and the light, airy texture of the center of freshly baked bread can improve any meal. Especially when it’s baked with love and using a traditional Persian procedure there’s nothing quite like it.
